Your Radiant Skin and Hair Has Much to Do with What You Eat
The word “superfoods” has become all the rage. Superfoods, as defined today, are extra powerful foods that benefit the body in one way or another. Those that are health conscious probably already know about the many benefits some of these foods provide in relation to diet, but what about the benefits they do for us on the outside? Here are some of the best superfoods that help us “look” better…
Blueberries – When you think of antioxidants, you probably think of blueberries. The antioxidants in blueberries help protect your skin from premature aging. As little as a half cup daily will benefit your skin.
Walnuts – Two essential ingredients in walnuts that promote smoother skin and healthier hair are omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E. Just a handful a day will do the trick.
Oysters – Although not everyone is a fan of oysters, they offer a great supply of zinc to the body. Zinc is good for keeping your hair, nails, and eyes healthy, while also repairing and renewing skin cells on your face and other areas.
Salmon – Salmon is full of omega-3 fatty acids, helping to keep your skin more moisturized and supple. Salmon also contains a mineral called selenium, which protects the skin from too much exposure.
Dark Chocolate – Now here’s a good one! Dark chocolate (in moderation), that contains high amounts of flavanol and a minimum of 60% cacao, hydrates the skin and protects you from sun damage.
